Year 11 Class of 2023 celebrate strong GCSE and technical grades

Our Year 11 Class of 2023 students are celebrating strong GCSE and technical results.

Students completed GCSEs and technical qualifications in engineering and advanced manufacturing or creative and digital media.

There were 105 students who sat GCSEs this year and 100% also completed technical qualifications. Some of the key highlights include the following:

• This year’s GCSE pass rate is 76%.
• 76% of students achieved a pass in GCSE English with almost 60% achieving a strong pass.
• 75.5% of students achieved a pass in mathematics with almost 50% gaining a strong pass.
• Students have achieved a 100% pass rate in triple science.
• The technical qualification pass rate is 80%.
• 88% of students studying creative and digital media have achieved a pass grade in their technical qualification in addition to a pass grade in GCSE media studies with 75% gaining a strong pass.
• In engineering, the pass rate is 80% across all three of the qualifications that students complete with almost 55% gaining higher grades in systems control and electronics.
