The Sheffield College, Assistant Principal
Governor
I began my career as a professional photographer, a role that allowed me to explore my creative passions. During this time, a former lecturer invited me to try teaching, sparking an unexpected yet profound interest in education. Working with students and witnessing their development was immensely fulfilling, and from that moment, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in teaching. After completing my teaching qualification, I secured my first full-time teaching role at a further education college near Manchester. However, after three years of commuting, I returned to Sheffield to join The Sheffield College, the very institution that had inspired my teaching journey.
For the past nineteen years, I have been deeply involved in further education, starting as a lecturer at Norton College, where I taught across courses for young people, adults, and higher education. Over time, I progressed to become a curriculum team leader. In 2015, when creative courses relocated to Hillsborough Campus, I transitioned to the role of Deputy Head of Learning in the Media and Performing Arts department. Two years later, I became Head of Academy for Media and Games, a role that further solidified my passion for developing innovative educational programmes.
Since 2022, I have been serving as an Assistant Principal at The Sheffield Sixth Form. This role has allowed me to contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the institution, focusing on delivering exceptional educational experiences.
Working at The Sheffield College holds a special place in my heart. It is incredibly rewarding to give back to the institution that played a pivotal role in shaping my career. My mission is to ensure that every student has access to the same enriching and transformative experiences that I had during my time as a student here.

R3D2 Limited, Owner
Governor
I’m Rich and I’m self employed as the MD/Owner of a business consultancy, working as a Fractional Commercial Director, R3D2 Limited which is 10 years old.
I’m 54 and Sheffield born and bred and love giving back to the City I was born and raised in. Taking that in account I wear many hats, these are as follows;
- Owner of R3D2 Limited – Business Consultancy – Fractional Commercial Director
- Sheffield Chamber – Nominations Committee Vice Chair (3 Years)
- Sheffield Chamber – Council Member (9 Years)
- Institute of Directors South Yorkshire Ambassador (4 Years)
- The Archer Project Ambassador (4 Years)
- SWFC Trust Board member
I experienced my career catalyst in 2015 when I left a local print company to work at Sheffield Chamber as an Account Manager and that’s where I began to experience exposure to businesses and business leaders around Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
During that time and following some of my voluntary work as a director of Wednesdayite (old SWFC trust) and Hallam FC I developed the skills of growth via social media channels and I left the Chamber after 18 months to set up R3D2 Limited for what it was originally set up to be a social media management agency.
After 3 years of running R3D2 full time I went back into employment where I worked for 3 MSP’s (Managed Service Provider) from 2019 to present taking in Affinity IT (Account Manager), Highlander (BDM), Jibba Jabba (Director) and now Owner/MD of my own business R3D2 Limited.
During this time I have also worn my other hats which are detailed above with others that I have since left behind but you can see full details on my LinkedIn profile https://www.linkedin.com/in/richdavies3101.
I also have two children now aged 19, both of whom work for manufacturers in Rotherham, one at AESSeal (who also attended the UTC City Centre) and the other at Prospec.
Outside of work I am a Sheffield Wednesday season ticket holder and a member of Hillsborough Golf Club.
