UTC Sheffield’s Creative and Digital Media department are proud to announce that from September 2023 we will be part of the Screen Yorkshire Connected Campus initiative. Connected Campus is a ground-breaking initiative forging closer links between TV and Film professionals, production companies, broadcasters and the students trying to break into this competitive industry.

By fostering stronger relationships between employers and educators, the aim is to ensure that students on a variety of vocational Film and TV-related courses are fully equipped for the demands of a contemporary, rapidly-changing industry – and that the region’s workforce is the most talented, versatile and best-prepared in the UK. This aligns well with UTC Sheffield’s mission of preparing the next wave of skilled industrial talent for the Creative & Digital Media sectors. The experience for students will be greatly enhanced with input directly from working professionals in the film industry across the CDM curriculum in workshops, talks and on location experiences to greater enhance the skills and working practices in the film and TV sectors.

UTC Sheffield is also the first UTC in Yorkshire to have signed up to the Connected Campus Initiative which already works with Sheffield Hallam University, Leeds Arts University, Leeds Trinity University, The University of York and the Met Film School.

Based in Leeds, UK, Screen Yorkshire is the engine that drives the film and TV industries in Yorkshire and Humber.
