Summer Greaves, Creative and Digital Media

Summer is off to Lancaster University and one step closer to a career in film after receiving her exam results.

She has just completed a technical qualification in creative and digital media achieving a double Distinction* and A Levels in Psychology and Art achieving an A and a B.

Upon opening her results, she said: “I feel really good about my results. The hard work was all worth it and now I feel like a weight has been lifted.”

Summer will now start a four-year Film course at Lancaster University, where in her third year she will have the opportunity to study abroad.

Summer hasn’t always been a student at UTC Sheffield City Centre, first joining our sister site on the Olympic Legacy Park where she specialised in sport, she made the decisions to switch schools and specialisms when moving into sixth form.

Talking about her experience at UTC: “I think the best thing about studying at UTC is that they are flexible, I’ve been able to study across both the Sheffield sites which has allowed me to do psychology as well as Art and Psychology.”

Continuing: “I’ve also had the opportunity to go to a film festival and to make my own short film as part of one of my units. I like that the course is practical and you get real experience.”
