For George, engineering isn’t just a subject—it’s a passion, a purpose, and a path to something greater. George has set his sights high: his dream is to work in Aerospace Engineering in Canada or America, ultimately aiming for a career with none other than Lockheed Martin, the global leader in aerospace and defence.

George has just received his GCSE results achieving a 5s in Biology, Physics and English Language, 4s in Chemisrtym English Literature and Maths, Level 2 Distinction in Engineering Manufacture and Level 2 passes in Engineering Design and Systems Control and Electronics.

His journey began when he heard glowing reviews about the UTC, especially the opportunity to specialise and plan for the future. “I really liked the access to a speciality subject,” George explains. “And the smaller classes made it feel more personal.” It was during an open day that George made his decision—one he stands by wholeheartedly today.

“I’m 100% certain I made the right choice coming to the UTC, the individual needs and getting that support from schools has really boosted my grades.”

But George’s impact isn’t limited to the classroom. At home, he’s actively supporting his mum, who has launched her own business to help children with special needs in education. George is contributing by helping create website content, and he’s excited about the potential to apply his engineering skills to make a difference. “If there’s a need for a fidget toy,” he says, “I can design and make that for them.”

George’s story is one of focus, drive, and compassion—a student combining technical expertise with heart. With his sights firmly set on the skies, there’s no doubt George is engineering a future full of possibility.
